Waste Processing Training Held in Ujung Menteng

A waste processing training is given to local citizens, RT/RW apparatus, Sub-District Leaders Forum (LMK), and Family Welfare Movement (PKK) in Ujung Menteng Urban Village. The organic waste can be used as compost for plants.

Head of Ujung Menteng Urban Village, Nasrudin disclosed that the training through program of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) PT Century Batteries Indonesia is explaining the theory and practice of organic waste processing into compost. It can be done, either in home or in trash tank.

"Thus the organic waste can be useful and can increase revenue by selling compost," he exclaimed, when he opened the training entitled 'Independent Waste Processing at level of RW/RT/Pokmas Through Mini Composting, Tuesday (9/8).

In the training, citizen is also given training how to make and place waste in a bath. In addition, there is also the theory and practice of hydroponic vegetables planting, with water and nutrient. "If the vegetable planted by ourselves is not contaminated by pesticides and ecoli bacteria," he explained.

For the speaker, is from SEMAI Alam Lestari Foundation. "Hopefully, it could be practiced by citizen and reduce waste volume," he hoped.
